Dear student,
Why another tutorial series, when the internet is filled with tutorials, blog, video tutorials?
It’s a very valid question and I believe that I have quite a convincing answer. I have been in the software industry for 14 years and the Mobile world for also most 7 years as the time of writing. I have been writing software programs for almost 20 years now.
In today’s world, we are quite result-oriented which is not bad at all. I see that good trait, kind of backfired when it comes to mobile apps development. All these online tutorials that claim to make you a developer in 30 days or some as fast as 7 days, are not making you a good programmer.
Yes, You will make an app that as no app store value or not usable or doesn’t solve any problem. It would be lost in billion apps that are out there.
To solve complex problems, you will need to know your tools, your languages. This is where “Learn swift by coding” shines.
We will be taking old school approach reading, comprehending what is being said or shown then implementing is by coding. As the title says it all. We will be writing a lot of code. So much code that writing code will be your second nature.
I am keeping the chapter bit-sized so that we aren’t getting bored nor mind is wondering about 10 other different things that are in mind. Sit tight for 10-15 mins and yes keep your sweet iPhone away. Let’s get you in the zone like a martial art student. Your focus is your first and fundamental tool.
SincerelyAlok Choudhary
